Identikit

Maranta is native to equatorial America. If it is comfortable in the environment in which it is found, during the night it erects the leaves in an upright position, almost to close. It's his way of conserving moisture.

Main damages and remedies

Withered leaves that turn brown : a symptom of excessively low temperatures.

Faded leaves, losing color : classic symptom of too much light.

Leaves rolled at the edges : little humidity in the surrounding environment. Increase nebulizations and eventually irrigations.

Tip: cleaning is important, it should be done often with the use of a damp cloth. The plant does not require pruning, but periodically it is useful to cut the stems with dried leaves at the base to favor the emission of new young stems.
